take-these-words-sing-out-loud:
The awkward moment when the Preds became Stanley Cup Champs without ever making it past the second round.
god you people are idiots. it’s a mission statement and a GOAL. just because we haven’t won one doesn’t mean we won’t. and why shouldn’t the players and the organization focus on making that statement TRUE? we’re a barely 10 year old team WE WILL GET THERE.
also, have any of you checked the standings lately? see where the oilers are compared to the preds? yeah, call me next time you make the playoffs.
like i don’t understand how people don’t understand it’s a goal? it says “ONE GOAL” right there. i know that if i was in a player, if i went into a game or playoff series saying to myself “we will win this, we will do this” etc, it’d put a huge confidence boost or whatever in me.
i know exactly what it is. It’s this constant bullshit believe by all the fans of “franchises with history” saying we will never be and can never be anything let alone Stanley Cup champions. We’re the team that when we win, the other team was “just tired” or “had an off night”. People get butthurt when the Predators beat them so decide to discredit them into nothing.
Really sad, to be honest.
/big mofoing eye roll.Maker, it even says “together everything is possible”
Idiots.
All of them.
I agree, being constantly discredited for being a newer team, or from Nashville, or because of Carrie all the time is really old and annoying. I totally agree with most of what’s been said, especially about people writing us off when we beat them. But at the same time, I’m not so sure I’m sold on the signs themselves.
The second I saw them I facepalmed a little and thought to myself, “here we go”. While I do believe in the meaning behind the words, going with the present tense there probably wasn’t one of marketing’s best ideas. The biggest red flag for me though was the One Goal thing- One Goal and One Goal Achieved were/are the Blackhawks motto and is something I associate with their team, and I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that. They did the One Goal and they did it well, and I think we should find out own thing to really set us apart.
